The Mount is interested in tour guides, ticket booth attendants, and café staff for its current season. (May-October). Tour Guides are responsible for interpreting the 42 room mansion and formal gardens. Guides lead 45 minute individual and group tours, greet visitors, assist self-guiding visitors and provide for the safety and security of the house and grounds and the visiting public.

Edith Wharton Restoration Tour Guides are well known for their exceptional presentations to visitors of the history of ‘The Mount’ and the life of Pulitzer Prize winning author, Edith Wharton. Knowledge and love of literature, history of the period (late 1800’s and early 1900’s), architecture, plants and landscape design helpful.

Qualified applicants should have at least one year of college education and enjoy working with a diverse public. Prior experience in as a guide, public speaker or work in visitor services is helpful. Availability on weekends and holidays is a must. Come join our friendly team for an exciting season!

Ticket office staff is responsible for welcoming visitors, selling tickets, answering questions and orienting visitors to The Mount. Prior experience in retail or visitor services strongly preferred. Position requires proficiency in cash handling, credit card machine and register use. Must be available to work weekends, holidays and special events. Prior food and beverage experience preferred for café staff, friendliness and flexibility required.
