Qigong with Jamie Greene

July 21 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am
Event Series (See All)
FREE

Enjoy the ancient Chinese, mind-body practice of Qigong, meaning “mastery of your life-force energy,” next to our beautiful French Flower Garden. Qigong, a simpler form of Tai Chi, combines gentle movements that mimic nature, self-applied massage, breathwork, and meditation with the goal of improving and maintaining physical and emotional health. This self-care practice has been found to relieve stress and anxiety, calm the mind, and may help reduce pain, improve mobility, balance, posture, strength, immunity and sleep.

To register for this class, email Jamie: greene01238@gmail.com

  • This program takes place beside the French Flower Garden and Pet Cemetery.
  • Wear comfortable shoes or bring a mat and practice barefoot. Bring a water bottle, as well as a chair/stool if you prefer to practice seated. Beginners welcome!
  • In the event of rain or inclement weather, this program may be cancelled. Registrants will be notified via email of any changes or cancellations.

Jamie Greene, PhD, is a graduate of the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi. She also holds a certificate from the eCornell T. Colin Campbell Center for Plant-Based Nutrition. Jamie, a former clinical researcher, discovered the power of Qigong and nutrition to heal from within during her retirement. She finds great joy volunteering to share the multitude of benefits for the mind, body and spirit of this ancient form of moving meditation with others. Jamie encourages her students to incorporate simple, effective Qigong techniques into their daily lives to enhance their physical and emotional well-being. She has shared her love of practicing qigong outdoors at The Mount, the Berkshire Botanical Garden, her community by Goose Pond in Lee, as well as at nature preserves in Florida.
