Bobolinks and Other Breeding Birds with Mass Audubon
July 16, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 pm
$15 – $20
This Mass Audubon program takes place at Edith Wharton Park.
Explore open fields at the height of breeding season for birds. We’ll take a leisurely walk through the meadows and along the lake shore environment in search of singing and nesting birds including Bobolinks: a unique species of blackbird that migrates an incredibly long distance. We’ll also share ways to support birds at home and in your community.
This program covers up to 1 mile on a mowed grass path that is level or gradually sloping but could have uneven ground.
- Meet in front of the entrance to Edith Wharton Park, which is located on Laurel Lake Road in Lenox, MA. Park on the dirt shoulder of the road, where the guide will be visible in a blue uniform at the park entrance. For directions and more information, visit this webpage.
- Bring your own binoculars or borrow a loaner pair from us. Dress for the forecasted weather. Bug spray is recommended.
- Your guide will email you about 24 hours in advance of your program with updates about trail conditions or weather.
- Pre-registration is required through Mass Audubon’s website.
