SUMMARY:CATA Writers' Workshop Poetry Reading
DESCRIPTION:Join Community Access to the Arts (CATA) at The Mount for a moving reading of poetry and prose by participants in the CATA Writers’ Workshop. Through work that is heartfelt\, thought-provoking\, and often infused with humor\, these writers share distinct perspectives while illuminating the universal experiences that connect us all. \nA complimentary reception will follow the reading. Join us! \nCommunity Access to the Arts (CATA) nurtures and celebrates the creativity of people with disabilities through the transformative power of the arts. Since 2005\, participants in CATA’s weekly Writers’ Workshop have explored a wide range of expressive forms—poetry\, haiku\, autobiography\, and short fiction—while developing their unique voices. Led by faculty artist Janet Reich Elsbach\, an accomplished local writer and dedicated teacher\, the workshop offers an imaginative\, supportive environment where each writer is encouraged to refine their craft and cultivate an individual style. \n  \nIMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION: \n\nThis program takes place in The Mount’s Stable Auditorium\, a climate-controlled\, 140-seat\, fully-accessible venue adjacent to the parking lot.
