DESCRIPTION:Stories\, voices\, and a welcoming café atmosphere—Wharton on Wednesday returns for a five-month run! Join us at the Terrace Café on the first Wednesday of each month\, June through October\, as local actors bring quintessential Edith Wharton short stories to life. Arrive early to enjoy the spectacular view and refreshments from the Café\, open at 4:30 pm. \nIn August\, Tod Randolph returns to read The Mission of Jane. Realizing his marriage has failed and his wife is lonely\, Mr. Lethridge agrees to her latest request: to adopt a baby. What could go wrong? \n  \nIMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION: \n\nThis one-hour reading takes place on The Mount’s Terrace under an open-air shade tent. Please be mindful of the weather and plan accordingly! The Terrace is located on the second floor of the Mansion. An elevator is available to assist those with mobility concerns.\nPlease park in the Upper Parking Lot. We recommend arriving 15 minutes early to allow time to enjoy the quarter-mile walk down the driveway to the Mansion. Golf carts run throughout the day if you require assistance to the event location. Accessible parking is available in spaces adjacent to the Mansion.\nThe bar at the Terrace Café will be open 4:30 – 5:30 pm.\nIn the event of extreme weather\, such as excessive heat or severe thunderstorms\, this program may be moved indoors to The Mount’s Stable Auditorium. All ticket holders will be notified by email at least two hours before the scheduled start time if a venue change is necessary. Those wishing to cancel their ticket orders will receive full refunds. Also at The Mount\, she played Osric Dane in a stage adaptation of Xingu for the inaugural production of The Wharton Salon in 2007\, and Mrs. Wharton in The Inner House\, a one-woman biographical play by Dennis Krausnick\, in 2012. She has been a member of Shakespeare & Company in Lenox since 1991\, where she has played numerous lead roles in both Shakespearean and contemporary plays\, directed several readings and one full production\, and taught and directed in the actor training programs. She lives in Great Barrington.
