This Sunday morning music and movement class introduces children ages 2-5 to a wide array of music from all different genres and origins through an equally wide array of fun, age-appropriate, student-oriented activities. Led by Ms. Julia of Berkshire Music School, Tunes for Tots incorporates instruction in both English and Spanish.
This program takes place in the Stable Auditorium, adjacent to the main Upper Lot and ticket booth.
Pre-registration is not required for this program.

Julia Shippee has been awarded a MM in Music Education from the University of Florida and a BA in Music Education from the University of New Hampshire. Julia taught elementary general music teacher, is a bass player in college orchestras and local jazz ensembles, and gigs as a performer as a guitarist and singer. In her role as a faculty member at Berkshire Music School, Julia teaches a robust all-ages studio of private lessons on guitar, bass, and ukulele and also teaches various BMS pay-what-you-wish Community Group Classes including Youth Ukes! and Youth Rock Band.
The Berkshire Music School, founded in 1940, has been serving the greater Berkshire County community for 85 years out of our location at 30 Wendell Ave in Pittsfield. We offer private lessons on any instrument, Community Group Classes on a pay-what-you-wish basis, and special programs for people of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. We believe that every student, no matter finances, should be able to receive a quality music education.

This August, The Mount is hosting a Children’s Book Swap as part of our Community Day celebration!We’re collecting gently loved children’s booksto share the joy of reading with other families in our community. If you have books your kids have outgrown, this is the perfect chance to give them a second life. All ages, reading levels, and languages are welcome!
Please drop off your gently loved booksat The Mount anytime this summer. We will have a bin in the Stable, and books will also be accepted at the Ticket Booth and other Youth & Family Programs.
