SUMMARY:Stories & Stretches
DESCRIPTION:Stories & Stretches is an outdoor\, movement-based workshop designed for kids of all ages. Blending storytelling and yoga\, this lively series is brought to us by Kimberly Kidder\, owner of Flow on Main yoga studio. Students will participate in coordinated movements\, playful games\, mindful meditations\, and breathing exercises. Stories & Stretches is designed to encourage physical and emotional awareness through fun and engaging experiences. \n  \nIMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION: \n\nThis program is designed for elementary-aged youth\, accompanied by their grown-ups. Thanks to our sponsors\, Stories & Stretches is free and open to the public; registration is encouraged but not required.\nThis program takes place outdoors on the lawn adjacent to the French Garden. In the event of inclement weather\, Stories & Stretches will be moved indoors to the Stable Auditorium. SUMMARY:Explore the Elements Art Workshop | Shape Shifters
DESCRIPTION:Venture throughout the grounds of The Mount with our youth education team to explore Sculpture at The Mount\, an exhibition featuring more than 20 works of contemporary outdoor sculpture. Participants will create studies of line\, color\, and form using different media and techniques. Young artists and their grown-ups are welcome to participate—no previous experience necessary. Join us! \nLine Lab | Learn charcoal drawing techniques to explore the concept of line\nSunday\, July 19\, 1:30 pm \nShape Shifters | Learn clay sculpting techniques to explore the concept of form\nSunday\, August 16\, 1:30 pm \nRainbow Flow | Learn watercolor painting technique to explore the concept of color\nSunday\, August 23\, 1:30 pm \n  \nIMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION: \n\nThis program is designed for youth ages 8-12\, accompanied by their grown-ups.\nThere is a $5 materials fee for this workshop. We understand that these are challenging times for many families. If you need to have the fee waived\, simply use the discount code YOUTH2026 when registering.\nThis workshop takes place outdoors on The Mount’s grounds\, which include a mix of woodchip paths\, dirt roads\, grassy areas\, and mostly level trails with some gentle slopes. Surfaces may be uneven\, and participants are advised to be mindful of exposed roots and natural variations underfoot.\nIn the event of inclement weather\, this workshop will be moved indoors to the Stable Auditorium.
