DESCRIPTION:Feel a tingle down your spine as our guides lead you through The Mount’s darkened halls\, sharing stories of the many eerie encounters that have been reported over the years. Ghost tours start in July and continue through Halloween! Advance registration is required. \n  \nIMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION: \n\nGhost Tours of The Mount last approximately two hours and include a half-mile walk – rain-or-shine – on a gently sloped gravel road. Terrain may be uneven\, and stairs are required to experience the full tour. Please plan your apparel and footwear accordingly!\nParking for Ghost Tours is in The Mount’s lower lot\, adjacent to the Mansion. An attendant will direct you from the Ticket Booth.\nThis tour contains adult content that is not appropriate for young audiences under 12 years old. Families should consider attending one of our Ghost Tours for Kids.\nIn the event of severe weather\, Ghost Tours may be canceled. Ticket holders will be notified of a cancellation by email by 2:00 pm the day of the tour\, and all tickets will be canceled and refunded.\nAccessible accommodations are available. DESCRIPTION:Enjoy the ancient Chinese\, mind-body practice of Qigong\, meaning “mastery of your life-force energy.” Qigong\, a simpler form of Tai Chi\, combines gentle movements that mimic nature\, self-applied massage\, breathwork\, and meditation with the goal of improving and maintaining physical and emotional health. This self-care practice has been found to relieve stress and anxiety\, calm the mind\, and may help reduce pain\, improve mobility\, balance\, posture\, strength\, immunity\, and sleep. \n  \nIMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION: \n\nBeginners are welcome! Pre-registration for this event is encouraged. How do we learn to trust what we cannot fully imagine\, and still lead our lives with optimism\, resilience\, and hope?   \nThis creative writing workshop invites you to engage in a gentle inquiry into how we relate to the future. We’ll begin with an introduction to the psychological barriers that keep us tethered to old narratives\, exploring the quiet power we hold not only to envision different futures but to practice showing up in ways that allow them to take shape. Through a guided visualization and reflective writing prompts\, we’ll envision what a renewed relationship with the unknown might look and feel like—on the page and in daily life. Petraeus is a retired four-star U.S. Army general\, military strategist\, and public servant whose career spanned over 37 years. She’s the founder of the Village Green News\, a new outlet for local news and opinion that features investigations\, personal essays\, and a community-centric podcast. \nThe Literacy Network has been offering free\, one-on-one tutoring sessions for adults since 1991. LitNet’s flexible\, personalized approach to tutoring enables adult learners to succeed in their jobs\, support their families\, and engage with their local communities. DESCRIPTION:Enjoy the ancient Chinese\, mind-body practice of Qigong\, meaning “mastery of your life-force energy.” Qigong\, a simpler form of Tai Chi\, combines gentle movements that mimic nature\, self-applied massage\, breathwork\, and meditation with the goal of improving and maintaining physical and emotional health. This self-care practice has been found to relieve stress and anxiety\, calm the mind\, and may help reduce pain\, improve mobility\, balance\, posture\, strength\, immunity\, and sleep. \n  \nIMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION: \n\nBeginners are welcome! Pre-registration for this event is encouraged. To register\, email: greene01238@gmail.com\nThis program takes place outdoors\, either beside the French Flower Garden or at the Dell Stage behind the Stable. When you arrive\, check in with the Ticket Booth to confirm the location for each class. She finds great joy volunteering to share the multitude of benefits for the mind\, body\, and spirit of this ancient form of moving meditation with others. Jamie encourages her students to incorporate simple\, effective Qigong techniques into their daily lives to enhance their physical and emotional well-being. She has shared her love of practicing qigong outdoors at The Mount\, the Berkshire Botanical Garden\, her community by Goose Pond in Lee\, as well as at nature preserves in Florida.

A licensed New York City tour guide since 2014\, Carl can often be found on the streets of New York giving one of his popular tours\, notably Edith Wharton’s New York\, offered by Bowery Boys Walks.  \nBecky Libourel Diamond is a food writer\, librarian\, and research historian. Her most recent book\, The Gilded Age Christmas Cookbook (2025)\, blends Gilded Age details and celebrity stories with historic holiday menus and recipes updated for modern kitchens. She is also the author of The Gilded Age Cookbook (2023)\, The Thousand Dollar Dinner (2016) and Mrs. Goodfellow: The Story of America’s First Cooking School (2012). She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Rider University and a Master of Library Service degree from Rutgers University. She has worked as a business librarian at Rutgers–New Brunswick since 2020. DESCRIPTION:Feel a tingle down your spine as our guides lead you through The Mount’s darkened halls\, sharing stories of the many eerie encounters that have been reported over the years. Ghost tours start in July and continue through Halloween! Advance registration is required. \n  \nIMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION: \n\nGhost Tours of The Mount last approximately two hours and include a half-mile walk – rain-or-shine – on a gently sloped gravel road. Terrain may be uneven\, and stairs are required to experience the full tour. Please plan your apparel and footwear accordingly!\nParking for Ghost Tours is in The Mount’s lower lot\, adjacent to the Mansion. An attendant will direct you from the Ticket Booth.\nTThis tour contains adult content that is not appropriate for young audiences under 12 years old. Families should consider attending one of our Ghost Tours for Kids.\nIn the event of severe weather\, Ghost Tours may be canceled. Ticket holders will be notified of a cancellation by email by 2:00 pm the day of the tour\, and all tickets will be canceled and refunded.\nAccessible accommodations are available. DESCRIPTION:Stories & Stretches is an outdoor\, movement-based workshop designed for kids of all ages. Blending storytelling and yoga\, this lively series is brought to us by Kimberly Kidder\, owner of Flow on Main yoga studio. Students will participate in coordinated movements\, playful games\, mindful meditations\, and breathing exercises. Stories & Stretches is designed to encourage physical and emotional awareness through fun and engaging experiences. \n  \nIMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION: \n\nThis program is designed for elementary-aged youth\, accompanied by their grown-ups. Thanks to our sponsors\, Stories & Stretches is free and open to the public; registration is encouraged but not required.\nThis program takes place outdoors on the lawn adjacent to the French Garden. In the event of inclement weather\, Stories & Stretches will be moved indoors to the Stable Auditorium.
