This year’s theme celebrates Edith Wharton as a master observer of human behavior—capturing the rituals, contradictions, and quiet comedies of society with wit, intelligence, and style.
The evening begins with cocktails in The Mount’s enchanting Italian Garden, followed by dinner in the magnificent forecourt of the mansion, where guests will be treated to a lively and lighthearted conversation with André Bernard, former Vice President of the Guggenheim Foundation, and celebrated New Yorker cartoonist and illustrator Roz Chast. Known for transforming the anxieties and absurdities of everyday life into moments of laughter, Chast embodies the same spirit of sharp, insightful observation that defined Wharton herself—making her a wonderfully fitting guest for this evening.
