Birding with Mass Audubon | Spring Migration

June 10 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am

Explore Edith Wharton’s original estate, from its woodlands and wetlands to its open meadows, on a relaxed, beginner-friendly birding walk. Learn how to spot and identify both migrating and resident birds, with a focus on the fundamentals of bird-finding, identification, and behavioral observation.

Rather than keeping a running list, we’ll slow down and enjoy the birds we encounter along the way. Bring your own binoculars, or borrow a pair from us!

Thanks to The Mount’s sponsors, this program remains free and open to the public!
Capacity is limited—registration is required.

IMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION:

  • This program is designed for adult audiences. To maintain group sizes that are conducive to birdwatching, pre-registration is required.
  • This program meets at The Mount’s Ticket Booth. Your guide will arrive 15-minutes before the program’s start time to greet early arrivals.
  • The trail distance covered during the bird walk varies significantly week-to-week. Typically, the walk covers up to 1.2 miles of unsurfaced trail, largely flat with a few gentle inclines. The trail can be uneven at points, contain tripping hazards such as exposed tree roots or rocks, and be wet or muddy. Please be mindful of the weather and plan accordingly.
