Birding with Mass Audubon

May 14 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am

Birding at The Mount is now on Wednesdays! Join an Audubon naturalist to learn skills to find and identify migrating and resident birds during this casual, beginner-friendly walk. This walk will focus on the basics of bird-finding and identification as well as observing the behavior of the birds we can see. We will pause and enjoy observing birds rather than focusing on maintaining an intensive list of every bird in the area. Bring your own binoculars or borrow a loaner pair from us.

  • Meet outside near the Ticket booth beside the Upper Lot.
  • Trail distance covered during the bird walk could vary significantly depending on how many birds we see. This program typically covers up to 1.2 miles on an unsurfaced trail.
  • The trail surface is largely flat with a few gentle inclines, but can be uneven at points or contain tripping hazards such as exposed tree roots or rocks. The trail surface could be wet or muddy depending on recent weather.

Pre-registration is required through Mass Audubon’s website so we can maintain group sizes that are conducive to birdwatching. This program is in high demand, so please sign up for no more than two dates at one time to ensure that many people can enjoy the experience.
