Collect Little Cones for a Big Mission

September 27 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Join us — no registration required.

Give the Eastern Hemlock trees at The Mount a lift! They need your help to travel to North Carolina for a leading role in reforestation efforts at the NC Forest Service. How do trees travel? Through their seeds! Join us for this family-friendly hemlock cone collection event. Little tiny hands are perfect for picking ripe cones off of tree branches. Our goal is to collect five pounds of cones with their seeds tucked safely inside and send them off to be planted to continue their legacy of creating unique forest ecosystems for hundreds of interdependent species to thrive across the East Coast.
