Winter Forest Bathing & Qigong

March 22 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Experience the beauty and healing properties of an Eastern Hemlock forest at The Mount. Join experienced outdoor guide and certified Tai Chi instructor, Mary Hannah Parkman, for a short, guided trail walk with a pause to breathe in the richness of the living world with simple-to-follow standing Tai Chi warmups & Qigong movements. By connecting body and breath, these standing movement practices calm and reset the nervous system, help cultivate peace in the present moment, and awaken and enliven our “chi” or life force energy.

Suggested donation $15 per person. Cash or Venmo: @maryhannah-parkman
5% of donations will go to support hemlock tree conservation efforts at the New York State Hemlock Initiative

This event is open to all people and no prior experience is required.

About Mary Hannah Parkman

I am drawn to the practices of Tai Chi and Qi Gong because they are based on nature and designed to balance and strengthen the whole body through the cultivation of vital energy or “chi.” When I practice, I feel clear-minded, vibrant, compassionate, and ready to engage with life. I have been studying Qi Gong for 10 years and Tai Chi for 4 years. I earned my Tai Chi certification in 2023 and continued to learn and expand my Qi Gong & Tai Chi practice with Nina Crist of Jaguar Path. When I teach Tai Chi and Qi Gong, I draw on my 12 years of experience as a mind-body movement instructor, teaching yoga in studios, wellness resorts, public schools and summer camps and leading outdoor experiences.
