Join WordXWord poets on a freewheeling journey across The Mount’s beautiful grounds, where landscape and language intertwine. Along the way, poets pause to share original work inspired by place, movement, and the natural world.
This is a migratory event where all participants – audience and poets – walk together, stopping along the way to share poems. Although the walk is short and The Mount’s grounds are well-maintained, walking shoes are strongly advised.
The “clue” for this event is CRISS-CROSS. Participating poets are free to circle around it as they see fit.
IMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION:
- This program meets behind The Mount’s Stable and takes place outdoors, rain or shine. Please plan accordingly! In the event of extreme weather conditions, such as excessive heat or severe thunderstorms, this event will be cancelled. Please check this event listing for weather-related updates.
- The Mount’s grounds include a mix of woodchip paths, dirt roads, grassy areas, and mostly level trails with some gentle slopes. Surfaces may be uneven, and participants are advised to be mindful of exposed roots and natural variations underfoot.
- A golf cart shuttle will be available to participants with mobility concerns.
- WordXWord events are free and open to the public – no advance registration is required; however, some poems may contain content or language best suited for mature audiences.
